Whiskey Crate Part 3
I'm continuing work on the whiskey crate. If you haven't checked out the other couple of entries on this project, please look at parts 1 and 2. This week, I finished up most of the carving, though I still need to carve the recipient's name on the lid of the crate. The lid will be removable. The base of the crate still needs to be built as well as the WSS (Whiskey Support System) inside the crate. The WSS will support the whiskey bottle and will hold 4 glasses. Additional

Whiskey Crate Part 2
I've been working some more on the whiskey crate and the sides are nearly done. This is really a great and fun build. The crate incorporates a TON of different techniques. I've done some hand-cut dovetails, some routing -- both with a circle cutting jig, a ton of carving and I'm just about into the stage where I get to make the layout actually happen. The crate will be pretty full. I didn't leave much extra room because I didn't want it to take up more space than necessary

Whiskey Crate Part 1
I'm honored to be working on a Whiskey Presentation Crate. This is going to a gentleman who is retiring from the Air Force after serving for 26 years, so I'd better make it good! The overall design is a walnut crate with maple accents. The dimensions are about 19 inches wide, 10 inches deep and 8 inches tall.
