It's anniversary time.

Today is my wife's and my wedding anniversary. Six years of bliss!
I wanted to make her something she could enjoy and look at every day while possibly filling up some of the blank wall space we have in our new home.
Mid Century style clock it is.

I made this out of a big chunk of hickory that was in what I call the "all twisted and crooked" pile at the local hardwood dealer. This was my first time working with hickory and it is considerably harder than the maple and oak I usually work with. This was really only an issue when cutting the center piece. That 6-inch disc really gave my drill press a workout.
It's great to be making things in the shop!
